Seahorse trade data (before 2004):
- Data from before 2004 are from official national sources for various countries and territories.
- The records were collected during trade surveys by Project Seahorse.
Consider the data with caution!
- Data are unverified by all countries and likely contain inconsistencies.
- Data should be considered as a preliminary.
- They probably under-estimate the volumes and values of seahorses in international trade.

Seahorse trade data (2004 onward):
All species of seahorse were listed in Appendix II of CITES in 2002. The listing was implemented in 2004.
Seahorse trade records from 2004 onward are found on the CITES webpage in the CITES trade database1:

- Organisation name
- Email Address
- Purpose of use (or you want to use the data for)
